Abstract

This study addresses the interference of environmental variables in their incidence on the quality of life of teachers in their professional habitat (the
university), pointing out stressors that impair their performance. The aim was to present the main identified problems that afflict third-degree professors and influence their quality of working life, with all their potentialities in a positive and negative sense – read motivation and demotivation. To this end, we proceeded to the partial analysis (previous notes) of data collected for a study of greater scope on the same
theme, consisting of a doctoral thesis through the exploratory method and qualitative character. The sample is composed of university professors from IES in Santa Catarina, chosen in a simple random way, along with which a structured questionnaire with closed questions and answers classified according to a Likert Scale was applied. Data analysis allowed us to infer that the professor's quality of life at work (QWL) at university raises questions. These questions need to be reanalyzed to effectively prove the variables that underlie a certain discontent and demotivation disseminated in the components of the sample. These results also indicate that this scenario of affected QWL can be considered generalized to IES throughout the country.
