Abstract

This research had as objective to analyze the logistic performance ranking of the countries belonging to the G20. For that, a descriptive and quantitative research was done through documentary analysis. Data were collected from the World Bank database, from 2011 to 2015. Using the TOPSIS multicriteria decision-making method, it was found that Germany was the country with the best position in terms of logistic performance. It was also verified that Brazil occupies one of the worst places in the ranking. This demonstrates that there are large logistical inefficiencies to be overcome. By means of the final ranking among the indicators, it was verified that developed countries have a superior logistic performance. In general, there is a need for improvement in the logistics components of countries such as Brazil, Argentina, Indonesia, Russia and South Africa, as the competitiveness of national companies, such as Brazilian, for example, depends crucially on a dynamic and competitive logistics environment in order to withstand countries that occupy the best positions, such as Germany, Japan and the United States. It is suggested that more developed countries, with better structures, economic conditions, and commercial incentives, have favorable conditions for greater logistic performance.
